   Out of Hours Emergencies

Our doctors can be contacted in an emergency over the lunchtime period by ringing the surgery.  You can telephone the surgery for emergencies outside surgery hours, your call will then be directly transferred to our out of hours provider, Nottingham Emergency Medical Services (NEMS)..

Alternatively, you may telephone NEMS direct on 0115 934 3000.  Out of hours calls are initially

discussed with you by the nurses at NHS Direct. If they are unable to help, your call will be passed to NEMS to be dealt with further.

The PCT is responsible for commissioning the out of hours service.

In the evenings you may be asked to attend the NEMS Out of Hours Centre, which is on Derby Road near the Queens Medical Centre. If you are too ill to attend, please tell the nurse who takes your call.

If a patient is severely ill,eg. sudden collapse, severe chest pain, unable to breathe, severe bleeding, or other life threatening emergency, then call 999 and ask for an ambulance.
